« The Last Dance » written and directed by Chris Keller
In the near future, an old man works alone in his garage – click-click clicking the hours away on an old laptop computer. His name is Hugo. His frail body and wispy hair belie the concentration in his eyes… He’s making something… Some great project…
It is a cold and gloomy future – or perhaps that is just his perception.
Mail arrives via automated drone; its animated smiles and digitised platitudes can’t burn away the carbon grey clouds or disguise the filthy towering skyscrapers.
The drone is Hugo’s only visitor. It brings a letter for his dead wife.
He returns to his work, as he always does.
Today is special though. Today, Hugo will test his creation.
Today, the not-too-distant future will become the not-too-distant past.
