“Interlude” directed by Savvas Stavrou
Written by Nathan D’Arcy Roberts

Synopsis:
An inventor on the brink of fulfilling his life’s work finally faces the truth behind the machine he is building.

Director’s Statement:
The film was produced for the Sci-Fi London Festival’s 48 Hour Film Challenge, where the festival provides a brief to over 300 filmmakers in the UK (a prop, a title and a line of dialogue) and gives them 48 hours to complete and submit their film.

INTERLUDE won the Challenge with the Best Film Award, and was made entirely in 43 hours from initial brief, to script writing, prep, production and post production.

I was passionate about creating a sci-fi film without the use of any visual effects, a sci-fi film that was about humanity rather than technology.

It is a story about family and the infinite power of love set against a science fiction backdrop.
